Where does it really go?

Charters Towers has a country charm about it, albeit an impressive one due to the imposing buildings remaining from the gold rush days. We walked part of the "One Square Mile" to see the more impressive buildings and we were particularly taken with the Stock Exchange Arcade - the coffee was pretty good too.

There was plenty of water flowing over the Burdekin Weir:


Though not so much water was visible 20k out of town at Macrossan rest area:
