She did what at Carnarvon?

I couldn't help myself, I've booked on the 14k, 7 hour walking tour of Carnarvon Gorge on Sunday! The things one does in search of a good photograph. I've no doubt that Barbara will take it in her stride but the jury's out on how I'll go.

As we have the 'Big Walk' planned for Sunday, we are taking shorter walks in the National Park over the next two days. Barbara was up with the sparrows (or currajongs) this morning to spot platypus in the creek running alongside our van park (Takarakka). She saw 4! I might have to rouse myself early one morning to do the same.

We finished the day toasting the sunset over the cliffs from Bandana Station and listening to the owners describe the running of the station and its history as well as true tales from the cattle duffing era.

I took 11 photos to get most of the expanse of cliff face that is visible from Bandana Station - it was well worth the $30 pp cost, especially when the evening finished with the full moon rising minutes after the sun set.

Mickey Creek Track:

We saw plenty of kangaroos today.

The track wanders alongside a palm fringed Mickey Creek with views of high sandstone walls through the trees on both sides.

Bandana Station Sunset:

Sorry about the ragged edges but I had to stitch 11 photos together so you can see the expansive view from Bandana Station.
