Almost a Washout!

Several walks were planned for today but it started raining just after midnight and didn't let up until mid morning. We thought we would have to spend the day finishing our knitting. Knitting you say. We have been knitting a section for a tree since we got here. No it isn't so cold here that the trees need covering. One of the staff asks all the ladies who come here do they knit. She is decorating a tree to raise awareness of child abuse. We did finish our sections and then it cleared enough for me to go for a walk along the river bank and build a nuk suk. Christine on the other hand was in her element using the free wifi at reception. She also finally found what she considers the best gadget ever, an ultrasound gas level detector for gas bottles. The upshot is there is still plenty of gas.

Blue sky after lunch so we headed for the gorge so I could do the 6.4 klm Boolimba Bluff walk. It includes over 900 steps.  Meanwhile back in the van Christine exercised her brain reviewing school financial results and drinking coffee. She says she is saving herself for the 14 klm walk tomorrow.

We arrived back at the van park in time to view the platypus in the river that runs beside the park.
