The Weatherman got it right.

Weather forecasts for today kept predicting a sunny and fine day so we held off visiting lakes and taking pictures of mountains in the hope that the forecast was right. Lucky for us it was.

Mt Bartle Frere (MBF) seemed to be around every corner and starred in many pictures.

MBF in dairy country:

MBF with tractor:

MBF and the tea plantations at Nerada Tea:

MBF and Mt Bellenden Ker from Halloran's Hill Lookout in Atherton:

MBF seemed to follow us around like eyes in a portrait!

We did manage to see another waterfall at Malanda as well as the oldest, continuously operation picture theatre in Australia:

And remember I said that we would let you know whether the Cathedral Fig was better than the Curtain Fig - well the answer is neither better nor worse yet different and still magnificent.

Blue skies and puffy clouds made for great reflections in the waters of Lake Eacham (a crater lake):

One family's dream of a memorial for Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan captured the public's imagination and funding. The Avenue of Honour was completed in 2013. It sits near the waters of Lake Tinaroo at Yungaburra and will be spectacular once the 118 flame trees planted along its length mature and flower:

The tea shop at Lake Barrine (another crater lake) was a lovely spot for afternoon coffee and scones and two towering Kauri trees were just a short walk from the tea house through a dark rainforest path:

I love the filtered winter light in the late afternoon:
