The walk took us just over halfway up the gorge to the Art Gallery (aboriginal spray ochre rock art, the oldest of which dates back 10,000 years). We then turned back with detours to Ward's Canyon, the Ampitheatre and Moss Garden. By the the time we reached the main track after seeing Ward's Canyon, I was tired enough to give the Ampitheatre and Moss Garden a miss. Barbara saw them and her favourite pictures are included below.
Most of the walking is on the Gorge floor and you pass through palm and eucalypt forest with multiple creek crossings along the way. Most were fairly straightforward, but there was one I elected to wade rather than use the stepping stones - I didn't want to see my camera take a dip. All up I walked 13 to 14km and Barbara walked 17km over 8 hours. I managed it, but took it easy over the last 3km and I can feel every metre in my bones right now. Fingers crossed it will improve overnight.
We're to Rubyvale in the gem fields tomorrow.
